Determined to work in the long term, particularly in terms of prevention, key people from different socio-economic circles have committed to activating the fight against human trafficking in all its forms by setting up a public utility foundation. Through its name**, SAMILIA**, aims to highlight the strength and resilience of all those forced into exile by war, socio-economic conditions or even global warming, which make them potential victims of trafficking. <\/p>

SAMILIA is the virtual \u201cpalace\u201d where those who are committed to the fight against human trafficking come together around the same ethical values.<\/p>

Created and recognized as being of public utility in 2007, the Samilia Foundation aims to combat human trafficking (THB) by alerting the general public and mobilizing all those who have the power or the will to make things change.<\/p>

It bases its action on national laws, European texts and international conventions.<\/p>

In order to avoid duplicating what has already been put in place in terms of assistance to victims of human trafficking, the Samilia Foundation has set itself the mission of acting effectively where existing systems should be supplemented or improved.<\/p>

Its missions have adapted over the years but its work remains structured around 4 axes:<\/p>

  • Information and awareness campaigns;<\/li>
  • Implementation of prevention projects;<\/li>
  • Political and institutional lobbying\/advocacy;<\/li>
  • Organization of awareness and fundraising events;<\/li><\/ul>
    <\/div>

    Sharing the same objectives and the same values, the Samilia Foundation distinguishes itself from the Samilia non-profit organization by its areas of intervention and some of its missions:<\/p>

    • In terms of prevention, the SAMILIA Foundation intervenes in the countries of origin of victims of human trafficking by setting up specific projects in partnership with local partners (Romania, Moldova, Benin, Senegal, Ivory Coast, DRC)<\/li>
    • In terms of information and awareness, the Samilia Foundation operates at European level and is a member of the EU Civil Platform against human trafficking.<\/li>
    • Its lobbying and advocacy missions, as well as the organization of awareness-raising and fundraising events, are specific to it.<\/li><\/ul>
      <\/div>

      However, the successive lockdowns due to Covid 19 forced the Samilia Foundation to interrupt the prevention projects it was carrying out in schools in the countries of origin of victims of human trafficking (Romania, Moldova).<\/p>

      They have been replaced by emergency humanitarian aid programs coordinated by its local partners.<\/p>

      Shortly after the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, and with the support of the Futur 21 Foundation, the SAMILIA Foundation carried out an emergency prevention program for Ukrainian women and children fleeing their country and welcomed in various centers on Ukraine’s borders with Moldova and Romania.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
